The boat has a hammered holley 4160 750 marine carb. Is it ok to run street carb if the engine isn't covered or should I just get the marine verstion again. Thanks

marine is the best for safety.but who gives a shizt@ that, lol :crossx: i run a standard holley hp dp 850. i put notched float and jet extensions in rear for my use and put elbows on the vent tubes so if float sticks, it'll kill the motor.no porbs after 3yrs of use.

ya don't know what to do. Street 4160 is $240 and the marine is $380.

Marine carbs have some fetures that street carbs don't have. It's a trade off. Brass floats, diff vent tubes in the marine carb. But in an open engine compartment, a street carb will work fine. Budlight

if you have a covered engine be sure to have a functional vent fan and use it like a red headed step sister! :220v:

Regular old automotive Holley on mine. Open engine compartment, no worries...

Thanks for the help. I figured that since the engine was covered at one time that's why it had the marine carb. It was a pain in the a** because you had to special order the parts for it from summit. I decided to go with the regular 4160. I think it'll work fine.
